Replacing your missing teeth is vital for your health, well-being and appearance.
Partial or complete dentures replace your natural teeth and provide support for your cheeks and lips, allowing you to enjoy healthy food and have a confident smile. Dentures can be made of acrylic or metal, they are shaped to mimic the appearance of natural teeth and gums and should be comfortable to wear.
Dentures are manufactured in a dental laboratory based on an impression of your mouth which we make at the dentist's office. The number of dentist appointments needed depends on the type of dentures you have chosen. Three visits are usually sufficient for partial dentures, while complete dentures require five visits. A week after you receive you new dentures, we will perform a check-up to make sure the dentures fit well and that you are pleased with them.
Implants are a modern alternative to partial as well as complete dentures. They provide a greater sense of security, as they don't come loose like standard dentures. As an alternative to partial dentures, implants are implanted where teeth are missing and porcelain crowns are cemented on top of the implants. Complete (full) dentures can be firmly attached into the mouth with the help of implants. This method is especially useful for the mandibular (lower) arch, where denture comfort is significantly improved by implanting two implants. The dentures then remain firmly in place during chewing.
