
What we eat and especially how often we eat significantly impacts our oral health. Food containing large amounts of simple sugars increases the possibility of tooth decay and periodontal disease. The impact is even greater if we consume sugars throughout the day, as this prolongs the ill effect of sugars in the oral cavity. One of the most important recommendations for improving oral health is to limit the frequency and quantity of sugary foods you consume.
If an examination shows that you have recently developed several new and active caries lesions, we will advise a protective diet. In some cases we may even ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire about your current diet, which will help us offer you even better advice.
Various tests exist to identify susceptibility for caries, giving us even more information to guide you on the right path to decreasing your risk of caries.
